Abstract

1,240,839. Steam baths. RELION RADIATION Ltd. 13 May, 1969 [17 June, 1968], No. 28780/68. Heading A4N. A steam bath unit comprises a flexible inflatable steam enclosure having an aperture for the user's neck and located adjacent a control cabinet 1 containing a water tank and a steam generator 4, a conduit 48 leading steam from generator 4 to the enclosure, and a blower communicating with the enclosure. The enclosure is a flexible inflatable plastics bag 14 having a sliding clasp fastener 16, the bag being secured to a rigid cabinet 11 vertically below cabinet 1. Cabinet 11 has a front panel 12 hinged to it along a lower edge 13, which panel when opened forms a platform supporting a base of bag 14 and when closed hides the bag within cabinet 11. Cords such as 9, 10 pass from the interior of bag 14 via conduits 29, 30 supporting the cabinet 1 and a plate glass shelf 31 to cabinet 1 and operate an adjustable bi-metallic switch 8, controlling the rate of flow of steam from generator 4 via conduits 48 and 21 into perforated conduits 23, 23<SP>1</SP> within the steam enclosure bag 14, and also operate an air heater and the blower unit 6, which supplies hot or cold air to the bag 14.
