Abstract

1,127,314. Shower cabinets. Y ZACHARIS. 11 Nov., 1965 [27 Nov., 1964], No. 48435/64. Heading A4N. Various toilet accessories, including a wash basin 17 with a discharge pipe, are housed in a shower cabinet. A bidet 28 is optionally provided and is supported in a tilted position by clips 32. The wash basin 17 slides to the front of the cabinet and may tilt about its sliding connections 19 with rails 16 or, alternatively, it may be stowed, in a sufficiently deep cabinet, without being tilted. A hand shower 46, which may also deliver a jet of water, has a a flexible pipe connection to a selector valve 12. The pipe may be drawn out of hollow wall (1) through hole 59. The basin may have a groove or recess to locate the hand shower 46 or the latter may be attached to the basin or bidet by sucker means. If the fixed shower rose 14 is omitted, means are provided for securing hand shower 46 in the overhead position. Flexible waste pipes 35, 36 enter the wall 1 and supply and waste pipes 13 and 41 extend within it. The cabinet may be assembled from separate panels of glass fibre reinforced plastics or it may be moulded therefrom as a single unit. The cabinet includes accessories such as swinging mirrors 26, (27), cupboard 23, strip-lighting 52, electric razor socket (50), storage compartment (48) towel rail or handle 22 and curtain rail 54. Towels may be dried on the outside of wall 1 by a heated towel rail (57) and/or a radiator (58) or a heated panel.
