Abstract
1,239,929. Locks. SIMPLEX ELECTRIC CO. Ltd. 6 Nov., 1968 [10 Nov., 1967], No. 51262/67. Heading E2A. [Also in Division F4] A bolt for the door of a heat cleaned cooking oven comprises a plate 117 manually operated by a roller 134 engaging a slot 136 in a slider plate 137 mounted at the front of the oven. A spring 133 biases the bolt 117 to its fastening position until the bolt is moved past its dead centre position, when the bias is reversed. The rearwardly extending shaft 130 of the bolt 117 carries a cam 131 engaging a plunger 118 spring-biassed towards the cam 131. Stops 131a and 131b prevent the bolt 117 being withdrawn unless a solenoid 119 withdrawing plunger 118, is operated by a push button in series with a temperature sensitive switch and the heat clean selector switch. This prevents the bolt being locked during normal cooking operations, and prevents it being opened while the oven is above normal temperature. A switch 116 in series with the heat clean circuit prevents heat cleaning unless the bolt is locked. An interlock comprising a lever 122 biassed by a spring 143 to a position obstructing the path of bolt 117 prevents its being operated with the door open. The closing of the oven door 141 engages a projection 122a on lever 122 to move it out of the path of the catch 117.
