Abstract

1,238,074. Track aligning apparatus. F. PLASSER. 7 June, 1968 [12 June, 1967], No. 27230/68. Heading B7N. [Also in Division G1] In railway track aligning apparatus the position of a line or chord 4 defining the required position of the track 3 and a scale on measuring trolley 8 are imaged via lenses 10 and mirrors 11 on a ground glass screen 12 at the aligning machinine operators position and also recorded on a film 13 which is moved in synchronism with forward movement of the aligning machine. In a second arrangement the position of the line or chord 4 relative to the frame of the measuring trolley is determined by the difference in the signals picked up by receiver 14 mounted on the frame and responsive to radio active radiation emitted by source 4<SP>1</SP> on the line or chord. The difference signal is indicated to the operator on scale 15 and it may also be recorded.
