Abstract

1,093,172. Track levelling apparatus. AMEBA A.G. Dec. 8, 1964 [Dec. 9, 1963], No. 49940/64. Heading B7N. Railway track levelling apparatus comprises a mobile chassis 1 carrying track lifting and packing machines 3, 2, a light receiver 5 which responds to light received via tube 8 which is maintained parallel to the track by support members 6, 17, a sighting telescope 16 secured parallel to the tube 8, a first advance vehicle 11 carrying a light transmitter 9 for co-operation with receiver 5 and a second vehicle 14 positioned further in advance of the machine which carries a target 15 which can be sighted via telescope 16. The light transmitter and receiver constitute a first reference line used for checking and correcting the position of the track and the target and sighting telescope constitute a second, more exact reference line against which the inclination of the first line is checked, and corrected if necessary by adjusting the height of the light transmitter, before track correction.
