Abstract

1,237,727. Stud and socket fastenings. FORD MOTOR CO. Ltd. 19 Oct., 1968, No. 49689/68. Heading E2B. A seat belt fastener comprises a lap belt tongue 14 having a notched aperture 19 therein and diagonal belt tongue 15 having a neck portion 17 connecting an end portion 18 to a body portion 16, the end portion being insertable into or withdrawable from the aperture only if one edge of the neck portion is seated in a notch 20 of the aperture 19. In use the notches 20 are displaced approximately 90 degrees from shoulders 21 formed by the neck and end portions. (For Figure see next column)
