[Also in Divisions F1 and H2] , An electric water pump comprises a rotor chamber A which is sealed from the pump chamber B by a rubber seal C having a lip which acts against a stainless steel washer D, and is filled with pure water to libricate the bearings. The pressures in the two chambers may be equalized by the inclusion of a porous ceramic plug E in the dividing wall; the plug acts as a filter.
