Abstract

123,609. Talbot, F. J. March 9, 1918. Air, humidifying.-In - a modification of the apparatus described in Specification 19644/03, consisting of a rotary fan with a periphery a<4> of wire gauze or other permeable material, water channels c<2> are formed in the interior of the fan casing, so as to conduct the water which is thrown up by the fan and afterwards descends the inner surfaces of the casing, back to the central air inlet of the fan. This water, and in addition a little supplied by a pipe b, collects in the bottom of the fan casing to a level, determined by an overflow, just above the bottom of the fan. Preferably two fans are set in one casing as shown, and separated by a vertical partition c<3>. They have separate air-inlet pipes d, and a common outlet d<1>. The inclined parts c<4> of the roof of the fan casing are preferably A-shaped in section. The channels c<2> at the sides of the casing may be omitted; or they may be arranged above the centre of the fan and connected to the air inlet by pipes outside the casing. A construction with a single fan is shown in the Specification.
