Abstract

1,233,996. Friction clutches. AUTOMOTIVE PRODUCTS CO. Ltd. 19 March, 1970 [26 March, 1969], No. 15777/69. Heading F2C. In a diaphragm-spring engaged friction clutch comprising a driving disc 15 on shaft 10 and a driven plate 31 on hollow shaft 11, the usual presser plate 25 and spring 34 are arranged on opposite sides of the driving disc 15 and are connected by posts 27 on the presser plate 25 passing through slots 19 in the driving disc. Tangential straps 48 connect the driving disc and presser plate, and the clutch is disengaged by a release bearing sleeve 44 acting on the inner end of spring fingers 41. Again, Fig. 3 (not shown), the spring fingers are eliminated, the diaphragm spring comprising only dished annulus, and the release sleeve acts on release levers (67) acting on the ends of the presser plate posts (58) and pivoted on posts on the driving disc.
