Abstract
1,233,578. Audiometers. P. VEIT, G. H. BIZAGUET, and A. UBERSFELD. 9 Sept., 1968 [8 Sept., 1967], No. 42719/68. Heading H4J. An audiometer comprises a white noise generator 13, and a switch 2b for selecting, as desired, unfiltered white noise or white noise filtered by a high pass filter 14, a band pass filter 15 or a low pass filter 16. A power amplifier 12 amplifies the unfiltered or filtered white noise signals. A loud-speaker 7 adapted to be held in the hand is connected to the output of the power amplifier 12 through a manually controlled switch 9. A battery 11 in the audiometer case 1 energizes the various circuits. The outputs of the filters 14, 15, 16 are connected to the battery negative terminal through calibration potentiometers 17, 18, 19. A calibration potentiometer 21 is for the unfiltered white signal. The output from the power amplifier 12 is adjustable by an attenuator 22. The switch 9 in the inoperative condition short-circuits the amplifier input to reduce current consumption. A pilot light 4 is provided.
