Abstract

1,232,989. Partition walls. RICHARD THOMAS & BALDWINS Ltd. 17 Feb., 1969 [15 Nov., 1967], No. 41545/67. Headings E1B and E1W. Partition or wall linings are built up from a series of lining panels e.g. P comprising a metal tray 1 containing a layer of plaster or cement 5 and having vertical attaching members 3, (4) and horizontal reinforcing members 2, and a series of cover panels e.g. J, comprising a tray 10 filled with plaster or cement and having a series of spring clips 12 embedded therein. The lining panels are used for the main parts of the partition or lining and a permanently secured in position, whilst the cover panels are releasably attached at places where access to services is required. The panels may have a layer of insulating material on the plaster or cement layer. The panels are secured to the building structure by brackets, floor trims, fixing angles, coring sections and spring clips. Internal and external corner and wall junction panels are also described and methods of erecting the panels to form wall linings or partitions are described. Processes for preparing the metal members and the plaster in-fill and combining the two are described.
