Abstract

1,232,847. Lever actuated switches. VIFVITALONI S.A.S. DI VITALONI MARIO, GIOVANNI & C. 4 June, 1968 [3 June, 1967], No. 53146/70. Divided out of 1,232,846. Heading H1N. In direction indicator and main light switches for vehicle of the type described and claimed in the divided Specification 1,232,846 the contact system comprises a metal disc 98, Fig. 5, yieldingly urged towards fixed contacts such as 105, 106, Fig. 6, by a spring 99 and bearing on a one or more balls 93 moving in an annular track 96 under the action of the actuating lever 53. In the example shown two balls 93, 95, Fig. 8, are located in recesses of an arcuate extension 91 of the lever 53 and in moving over the track 96 may drop into a recess 97 whereby the disc 98 is tilted to engage one or other of contacts 106 or 107 or is held away from both contacts (as shown in Fig. 8) while it is maintained in permanent engagement with the third fixed contact 105. In modifications the recess 97 may be elongated so that the disc 98 may engage both contacts 106 and 107 simultaneously with contact 105. The actuating lever may also be mounted on pins (118) (119), Fig. 3 (not shown), engaging a slot in the housing whereby the lever may be tilted to actuate head lamp flashing contacts (150) (154).
