Abstract

1,232,548. Electrolytic recording paper. INTERNATIONAL SCANATRON SYSTEMS CORP. 14 April, 1969 [17 April, 1968], No. 19041/69: Heading D2B. [Also in Division B8 A roll of paper for electrolytic recording is impregnated with a mixture water with sodium or potassium nitrate, sodium phosphate, and oxalic acid to provide a final pH of 3-5: There is then added a marking compound such a pyrocatechin, a stabiliser such as thiourea and an optional wetting agent. The roll of paper is impregnated with all or some of these ingredients, and may then be dried or partly dried, before being sealed in a package (see Division B8} which has a further compartment containing water and any missing ingredients so that preparation of the paper may be completed immediately before use.
