Abstract
1,232,247. Laminates. NORWOOD INDUSTRIES Inc. 20 Aug., 1968, No. 39847/68. Heading B5N. A process for finishing split leather comprises the steps of casting a layer of a polyurethane material on a carrier e.g. of paper treated with a release agent, drying the layer to form a polyurethane film, applying a layer of an adhesive material to said film e.g. by knife and roller, placing split leather on said adhesive layer, pressing the resultant assembly e.g. by calendar rollers, drying the adhesive and removing the carrier. The drying may be effected in an oven or at ambient temperature. The release paper may be embossed or have a glossy surface. The film may be printed prior to application of the adhesive. The adhesive may be pigmented.
