Abstract
1,231,133. Magnetic separators. DNEPROPETROVSKY GORNY INSTITUT. 11 Sept., 1969, No. 44893/69. Heading B2J. A method of separating feebly magnetic ores in which the material is contacted by ferromagnetic bodies in a magnetic field is characterised in that after being removed from the magnetic field the bodies are separated from each other to remove their residual magnetism after which they are returned to the field of influence of the magnetic field. The bodies which are preferably balls may be separated by being fed onto an inclined vibrating tray where they are subjected to the action of an alternating magnetic field. Jets of liquid may also be used and obstacles may be set up in the path of the bodies so that they may collide with them.
