Abstract

1,230,832. Walking beam conveyers for furnaces. ISHIKAWAJIMA-HARIMA JUKOGYO K.K. 26 June, 1968 [26 June, 1967; 12 Dec., 1967], No. 30527/68. Heading F4B. A walking beam conveyer for a continuous furnace comprises fixed inverted U-shaped uprights 3 carrying beams 2 and movable inverted U-shaped uprights 5 carrying beams 4 and set in a base 9 to which the necessary rectangular movement is given. The uprights 16, Fig. 11, may extend through the furnace base at 19 and carry an inverted U-shaped baffle 20 with legs disposed in water troughs 22. A spray pipe 26 washes slag particles 18 into the troughs from which they are removed by conveyers 23.
