Abstract

1,230,713. Automatic exchange systems. SIEMENS A.G. 16 Oct., 1969 [17 Oct., 1968], No. 50879/69. Addition to 1,058,893. Heading H4K. A folded network as claimed in claim 1 of Specification 1,058,893 is arranged for fourwire working and has links between one outlet and another outlet of a stage of the network crossed over so that a send pair is linked to a receive pair and a receive pair is linked to a send pair. Depending on the separation of the inlets to the network a connection can be set up between them over one, two, or three stages, a connection being progressed from an inlet of the network to an outlet of a particular stage which outlet is linked to an outlet of the same stage giving access backwards over the network to the wanted inlet. The network shown has sections KT1 to KTs, between any inlet and outlet of which only a single path exists. In each section the A and B-stages are constituted by groups KG1 to KGn which also provide a single path between any inlet and any outlet. Crossedover links between outlets of a stage are shown at Za1, Za2, Zb1, Zb2, Zc2, Z12, Z1s, and Z2s; the outlets belonging to the same A, B, or C- switch, to A-switches in the same group, to B- switches in different groups of the same section or to C-switches in different sections. The switches can be relay cross-point, cross-bar or crossed-coil switches.
