Abstract

The switching network carries out no concentration or expansion functions. Two-wire lines from the network terminal circuits are connected to the inputs of the input stage, and incoming two-wire lines of four-wire junction lines are connected to the outputs of the output stage. The corresponding outgoing and incoming two-wire lines of a four-wire junction line are connected to an input and output switching groups with the same position number in the corresponding switching stages. Intermediate switching groups are arranged in pairs, with each pair in the same bay, or at least in two adjacent bays in the exchange. The two paths built by the switching network for each call for connection of two four-wire lines, pass through different switching groups in a pair, or through the same group, so that the length and transmission loss differences in both paths are as small as possible.
