Abstract

1340268 Automatic exchange equipment SIEMENS AG 29 April 1971 [30 April 1970] 12124/71 Heading H4K A TDM exchange operates with separate lines for the two directions of transmission and is provided with a switching network and has a delay element interposed into each incoming highway to provide a delay time of a whole number multiple of time slots and has an intermediate store additionally interposed between each incoming highway and each outgoing highway and the switching network. The intermediate store has tappings each corresponding to a time-slot delay and each tapping is directly connected to a different respective input or output line of the connection switching network. The delay element is omitted from the system shown and connections are made through the switching network KF between lines of the different groups A, B, C and each line of the pair of lines A1 is connected to KF through two lines, each of which includes a delay element and one of which additionally includes a single delay Z. The lines of groups B and C are provided with a pair of delays Z and the tapping points between the delays are connected to KF. In a connection between Ak and Bm a delay of zero (switches k00m; m00k operated), one time slot (k01m or k10m; m10k or m01k) and so on up to three time slots (k12m; m21k) can be selected. Preferably PCM signals are transmitted.
