Abstract

An aquarium air diffuser 21 comprises a self-supporting, resiliently flexible, elastomeric porous tube 20 having end caps 23, 60 and retained below the surface by a lead weight 30 or by suction cups (71, Figs. 3 and 7, not shown). The cap 23 has a spigot end 24 connected to an air supply pipe 16 and the cap 60 has an aperture (shown plugged by a boss 68 on a removable cover 66) into which the spigot of another diffuser can be inserted (see Fig. 5, not shown). The preferred material is polyvinyl chloride, but other thermoplastic, or rubber, may be used.
