Abstract

1,229,821. Delivering sheets. WINDMOLLER & HOLSCHER. 17 May, 1968 [26 May, 1967], No. 23683/68. Heading B8R. Sheets 75 are delivered from conveyer 19 on to shingling conveyer 22 the speed of which is controlled so that when the speed of delivery on to conveyer 22 increases to a value such that the distance "d" between the sheets is removed, the speed of conveyer 22 is suddenly decreased to shingle the sheets, Fig. 5, and when the speed of delivery decreases to a value such that shingling is almost non-existent, the speed of conveyer 22 is suddenly increased to space the sheets, Fig. 4. The invention is applied to an apparatus wherein there are two delivery conveyers, 19, 20, Fig. 1, to which the sheets (in the form of tube sections) are directed in counted batches by a switch 18. Upper and lower shingling conveyers 22 and 23 receive the sheets and pass them to conveyers 30 and 31 whereon the sheets are stacked behind hinged stop plates 32 and 33. The stacks are forwarded by belts 36 and 37 on to delivery table 40.
