Abstract

122,924. Venables, G. E., and Blackmore, J. S. Feb. 13, 1918. Valve-gear ; valves, arrangement of; suction pipes.-A pump for oil &c. comprises a fixed barrel a with suction and delivery ports b, c at different levels, an inner reciprocating cylinder d closed at one end and provided with suction and delivery ports d<1>, d<2> in the same plane and adapted to register alternately with the ports b, c, and a plunger g reciprocating in the cylinder d. A needle valve l operated by the arm m is provided on the indet port b. In the form shown in Fig. 5, the cylinder d oscillates, and has a suction port d<1> in the plane of the port band a delivery port d<2> in the plane of the port c. The cylinder d is oscillated by the plunger eccentric f through a lever o pivoted at o<1> and connected to an arm p on the head of the cylinder.
