[Also in Division F2] A ship's propeller shaft tube d is sealed from the ingress of water when the shaft g is withdrawn inboard by a cap α applied to the outer end of the tube, e.g. by being secured by brackets or dogs k to a boss h. The cap is domed at I to accommodate a bearing b supported on arms c permitting adjustment of the bearing centre relative to the centre of the cap. The bearing may support a boring bar when aligning the lining e.
