Abstract

1,227,893. Apparatus for securing bath panels; joints. WILLIAM HEATON & CO. (PLASTICS) Ltd. 22 April, 1969, No. 20383/69. Headings A4H and A4N. A side panel 5 and an end panel 10 are fixed adjacent a bath by securing the panels to supporting posts 1A, 1B, each post having at least one spring clip 2 secured to it, one of the pair of adjacent panel end parts carrying a spring clip 7 for engaging the clip 2 on a post 1B and having a flange 9 for engaging a rebate 11 in the other of the pair of adjacent panel end parts, and the opposite end parts of the panels each having a spring clip for engaging the clip on the other posts. Two clips are preferably provided on each post and the panel end part having a rebate preferably also has a flange 12. For fixing a side panel 5 and two end panels 10 two posts 1A and two posts 1B are provided, the panel 5 having two flanges 9 and each panel 10 having a rebate 11 and flange 12. The clips 7 have a flange part 6 which may be secured to the panels by adhesives or during moulding of plastics panels. The posts may be of wood, the clips 2 being secured thereto by screws through flanges 4. The posts may be support legs or corner frame-members for supporting a bath which may be of plastics material and may have a top rim which overhangs the top edges 14 of the panels.
