An ornamental container for a bottle 14 comprises a barrel-shaped support structure 11 made of paper mache or injection-moulded polystyrene, a tubular plastics jacket 15 externallymarked to represent barrel staves and hoops and shrunk on to the structure, a ring 22 integral with or fixed to the bottom of the structure, which ring is formed with a notch 23, Fig. 2 (not shown) adapted to co-operate with a projection 24 on the bottle thereby preventing relative bottle/container rotation when removing the bottle cap. A washer 19 and a disc 17 retain turned back ends of the tubular jacket.
