Abstract

[Also in Division A5] Releasable fastening devices are provided in a dental tool comprising a hollow tubular handpiece 2 including a protective sleeve fitting over the projecting slip-sleeve 3 of the motor 4. The slip-sleeve carries a spring-blade 6 along its length, fixed at one end by ring 7 in groove 8 and carrying a stud 9 towards its free end. The stud 9 projects into the groove 10 of a conventional handpiece without a protective sleeve and may be released by button 11. Alternatively the handpiece 2 may be released by rotation about the sleeve 3 until a stud 13 in the groove 10 cooperates with stud 9 and depresses it, thus releasing the handpiece 2.
