Abstract

1,226,547. Battery vents. ELECTRIC POWER STORAGE Ltd. 12 June, 1968 [13 June, 1967], No. 27270/67. Heading H1B. The splash-proof vent plug 30 of a storage battery is covered by a cap 20 including a porous membrane through which the gases must pass. As shown, the cap includes a length of tubing 21 made of sintered polyethylene and a disc 22 of impervious plastics material fastened thereto. The cap reduces the possibility of the gases evolved from the battery exploding.
