Abstract

1,226,433. Transistor polarity insensitive amplifiers. MESSERSCHMITT - BOLKOWBLOHM G.m.b.H. 17 Oct., 1968 [24 Oct., 1967], No. 49258/68. Heading H3T. [Also in Division G4] A negative feedback differential amplifier has the input signal switched to one or other of the input terminals depending upon sign of the signal so that the output signal is always of the same sign. In the circuit shown, when the input signal is of one sign T 1 and T 3 are conducting and T 2 and T 4 non-conducting so that the input signal Uin is applied to input terminal E and negative feedback applied through R 2 . When the signal is of the other sign T 2 and T 4 are conducting and T 1 and T 3 non-conducting so that the input signal is applied to #E, the input terminal is earthed through T 4 and negative feedback is applied through R 4 to point 6. In each case the effective gain is unity. The field-effect switches T 1 -T 4 are controlled by a differential switch T 5 , T 6 in turn controlled at A in dependence upon the sign of the input signal.
