Abstract

1,226,342. Mooring buoys. NORTH BRITISH ELECTRIC WELDING CO. Ltd. 22 April, 1968 [21 April, 1967], No. 18353/67. Heading B7A. A mooring buoy 1 comprises parallel spaced pontoons 2 connected to one another by upper and lower hollow transoms 4, 3. The shackle arm 5 is pivoted near one end on pins 6 which allow lateral movement of that end as well as pivotal movement about the pins. The arm 5 passes between guide members 8 which prevent lateral movement of the arm at that point. The shackle arm is connected at one end by a chain 10 to the sea-bed and at the other end to a ship to be moored.
