Abstract
1,225,346. Removing cores from packages. SCHUBERT & SALZER MASCHINENFABRIK A.G. 19 March, 1969, No. 14359/69. Headings D1F and D1J. Apparatus to remove the winding core from a self-supporting yarn package comprises a single pushing means, e.g. a pneumatically operated piston 9, which pushes the package 1 off the core 3 in two or more movements. This is stated to place less strain on the pushing means than in conventional arrangements. The package 1 is first deposited in a trough 2 so that a groove in the core 3 engages a notch 31 in a fork 5, the weight of the package pressing down sprung arm 71 bearing a pusher 7. On retracting the piston 9, another pusher 32 forces the package part way along the core. The piston is then extended, and as it passes the end of the package, arm 71 springs up. The next retraction of the piston then forces the package off the core by means of pusher 7. A second embodiment (Fig. 3, not shown) uses a driven threaded spindle moving a nut to drive a single pusher mounted on a ratchet device.
