Abstract

122,444. Adams, T. Hamilton-. Jan. 18, 1918. Seed and manure distributors.-Relates to an implement for making drills in pasture land for the purpose of sowing seeds without breaking up the pasture. The implement, may be of the same construction as implements for drilling seeds in arable land, but is characterized by the coulter or other drill-forming tool having a cutting-edge sufficiently sharp to cut through the pasture without tearing it. The implement may have a rotary cutting-disk with a V-shaped edge which cuts and presses the pasture sideways so as to leave a drill into which the seeds may be subsequently dropped', or the implement may be in the form of a seed and manure drill as shown in Fig. 1, in which C is the coulter with sharpened edge V- shaped in cross-section, with covering blades L attached at each side and a pressing roller M mounted on a spring arm M<1> behind. Seeds and manure are simultaneously fed to the coulter from a hopper G. The other parts of the implement are of usual construction.
