Abstract

1,223,689. Open-end spinning. T.M.M. RESEARCH Ltd. 5 Aug., 1968 [8 Sept., 1967], No. 41134/67. Heading DID. A method of open-end spinning yarns comprises delivering fibre to a stationary surface 15 and removing them in the tail of the yarn, the tail being rotated to collect the fibres and twist them by a false-twist device 22. The conical surface 15 is perforated and contained within a suction chamber 17. False twist device 22 has a jaw (31), see Fig. 2 not shown, fixed internally and a co-operating pivoted jaw (32) which grips the yarn against the fixed jaw by centrifugal action. Other forms of known false twisting device may be used.
