1,223,587. Lifejackets. J. C. SAINSBURY. 1 Nov., 1968, No. 52022/68. Heading B7U. A lifejacket has an external compressed gas container 14 connected to its interior, and a pressure release valve 18. The body comprises two sheets of rubberized material joined at the edges. The compressed gas container 14 is connected to the jacket interior by a manually operated valve 17. A tube 21 with a one-way valve allows oral supply of air into the jacket. A sheet 29 may be extended to brake the diver's ascent. A canopy may be extended over the diver's head.
