1,223,447. Removing auxiliary threads from lace or warp knitted fabric. M. ORCHARD. 21 Aug., 1969 [27 Aug., 1968], No. 40808/68. Headings D1K and D1S Lace or warp knit thermoplastic fabric formed of bands joined by electrically conducting draw threads, e.g. metallic wire, are separated by passing an electric current through the draw threads until they are heated sufficiently to melt the thermoplastic material at the edges of the bands. The fabric may be passed between two pairs of rollers one roller of each pair having an electrically conducting peripheral surface and being connected respectively to the two terminals of an electric power supply. The wires may be recovered for reuse.
