Abstract

1,223,199. Weaving terry fabric. CANNON MILLS CO. 13 Nov., 1968, No. 59309/68. Heading DIE. In a loom in which a loop of weft is taken halfway through the shed by one needle and transferred to a second needle which straightens out the loop into a single pick, the trailing end of the weft is prevented from becoming entangled with the relatively slack pile warp by lowering the upper sheet of the taut ground warp to about mid-shed line, and then returning it to the top shed line before the next pick. The movement is produced by an extra lobe on the appropriate tappet.
