Abstract

1,223,114. Insoles. BRITISH UNITED SHOE MACHINERY CO. Ltd. 6 June, 1968 [7 June, 1967], No. 26172/67. Addition to 1,143,546. Heading A3B. The insole of the parent Specification which consists of two portions joined together in overlapping relationship with extensible material interposed between the overlapped margins over part, at least, of one of the portions. As described the insole consists of a first portion comprising a rigid heel seat and waist part 2 joined by a lap joint 18 to a flexible forepart 4 and a second portion comprising a rigid toe part 6. These two portions have skived overlapping edges 16, 14 between which a layer 8 of extensible material, e.g. polyurethane foam, is interposed. The layer 8 also extends over the forepart 4 and is adhered to the forepart 4 and the skived margins 14, 16. The insole also has positioning holes 10, 12 and is assembled in a shoe with the foam layer 8 in a position to contact the foot.
