Abstract

1,222,868. Laminated fabric. K. R. ROWBOTHAM. 19 Aug., 1969 [12 Oct., 1968], No. 48458/68. Heading B5N. A furnishing fabric comprises two layers of brushed synthetic textile material and a ply of foamed synthetic plastics material e.g. polystyrene or polyurethane disposed therebetween, the brushed surfaces of said layers being outermost and the surfaces of said ply being bonded to the respective adjacent surfaces of said layers throughout substantially the whole of the areas thereof. The fabric may be made by assembling the foam between the layers of textile material and applying heat and pressure e.g. by rollers to the resultant assembly. The textile material is preferably of nylon or polyethylene terephthalate. In a preferred embodiment, the two textile materials are of differing colour or weave.
