Abstract
1,222,587. Dispensing measured quantities of liquids. PACKARD INSTRUMENT CO. Inc. 16 May, 1968 [16 May, 1967; 25 March, 1968 (2)], No. 23226/68. Heading B8N. [Also in Division B1] A liquid metering system for supplying liqud from for example vessel 63 to heat exchanger 41 comprises metering dispenser 65 with movable piston 65a, valve 64, and pressurized liquid supply vessel 63. With the valve in the position shown, piston 65a remains as shown and no liquid is dispensed. When the valve is turned through 90 degrees, liquid from vessel 63 flows to the right of dispenser 65 and forces the piston to the left to a preselected stop position, while a preselected quantity of liquid is dispensed through valve 64 into the heat exchanger. Piston 65a moves alternately to the left and to the right in successive dispensing operations.
