Abstract

1268488 Dispensing liquids AVERYHARDOLL Ltd 20 Aug 1969 [20 Aug 1968] 39726/68 Headings G4D D1B4 D1D9E D1D9D and D1D13 A liquid-dispensing apparatus comprises a flow meter to measure the quantity of liquid dispensed, and at least one indicating device, wherein the meter drives means to generate fluid pulses, which pulses control the indicating device or devices. There may be such means for a price indicator and for a volume indicator. The volume indicator is directly driven by the pulses, whereas the price indicator may be driven through change-speed gearing. Each fluid pulse may release one pawl in a set to allow movement in steps, the next pulse releasing the next pawl, and so on. The starting and stopping of the pump may be controlled by fluid-pressure means. An interlock system may be provided whereby dispensing is not possible unless the grade of petrol indicated by a movable bond is the same as that represented by the setting of the change-speed gearing, and the meters are zeroized.
