In a sheet-fed rotary printing press of the kind in which an impression cylinder has two or more segments and a sheet to be printed on is attached to one segment and printed on with a first ink, then transferred to another segment and printed on with a second ink, registration of the images produced is brought about by displacing the sheet, as required, longitudinally, laterally and rotationally within the apparatus transferring it. Axle 1 carries a drum with grippers mounted on spindle 11 and supports, which co-operate with the grippers to hold a sheet, mounted on spindle 12. The spindles 11, 12 are mounted at each end in a slidable block 25, displaceable as the drum rotates so that the sheet is picked up with its gripped edge in one position relative to the drum and is released with it in another. Movement of the blocks 25 together displaces the sheet longitudinally, differential movement rotates it. Lateral adjustment is by moving the whole drum by action of lever 17 against spring 22, promoted by rotating variable-eccentricity cam 19. Movement of the blocks 25 is brought about by levers 27 which rotate with the drum and carry rollers 33 which run in tracks in displaceable bodies 35, 36. The stroke imposed by these on the levers 27, and so on the blocks 25, is varied by displacing them by action of rotating variable-eccentricity cams similar to 19. Each cam consists of a circular body whose centre is displaceable relative to that of a driving gear-wheel, to an extent decided by the position of the eccentricallymounted head of a bolt in the mount of the gearwheel, adjustable by, for example, a hand wheel.
