Abstract

1,222,194. Space-heating radiators. 0. BENETOLLO. 27 March, 1969 [28 March, 1968], No. 15995/69. Heading F4S. In a radiator comprising a plurality of extruded, finned radiator elements 1, each having a tubular fluid passageway formed therein and provided with holes to receive common fluid distributer and collector headers 4 incorporating ports 7 communicating with the interior of each radiator element, each port 7 is surrounded by a suitably shaped washer 8 to ensure a water-tight joint between the header and the radiator element. A headless screw (not shown) inserted into the end 9 of the passageway 2 bears against a longitudinally extending rib 10 on the surface of the header to hold the header tight against the washer 8. In an alternative embodiment (Fig. 6, not shown) the headers have a square cross-section and each radiator element is provided with two fluid passageways.
