[Also in Division F2] For mounting in a frame 3 of a continuous casting plant, a mould 2 has two axiallyspaced sets of at least three tie members 4, each set (when the mould is mounted) extending in a plane substantially perpendicular to the mould axis and each member 4 of a set extending in a different direction. If a multiple-pass mould is used there may be six tie members 4 to each set. The members 4 may be cables or chains. As shown they are rods in sections, some of whose ends are threaded for joining by a double nut device 8 for length adjustment while other ends 7 are flanged for joining by bolt, nut and spring to provide expansible joints. The rod ends are hooked for linking with half-ring anchors to provide hinges 5. The mould is supported on cam-rocked levers for reciprocation.
