Abstract
1,221,397. Cartons. COMPAGNIA ITALIANA NEST-PACK S.p.A. 7 May, 1969 [8 May, 1968], No. 23277/69. Heading B8P. A moulded plastics cellular insert 1 for a carton, has peripheral cells 2 supporting small containers, whereas the lower ends 103 of the inner cells 3 are a substantial height above the plane of the lower ends of the peripheral cells, so that the small containers protrude below the inner cells, the cells being connected by ribs 6 and 16, which merge with the substantially upright cell walls 4 partly corrugated at 5. The peripheral cells are provided with buses 102, preferably corrugated, and may be open at their outer sides with upright walls extending down to the bases. The inner cells may have corrugated bases, each base quartered to form four flaps, which, when pushed down by a container inserted in the cell, extend to but not beyond the plane of the peripheral bases, and grip the lower part of the containers. The cells of the insert may taper outwardly from the bottom to the top, thus permitting the empty inserts to be nested.
