[Also in Divisions B2 and C2] The invention comprises homopolymers and copolymers of compounds of the general formula wherein R f is a perfluorinated C 2-18 alkyl radical, A is a C 2-6 alkylene radical, B is hydrogen or a C 1-4 alkyl radical and X is hydrogen or methyl. The polymerization is conducted by bulk, solution or emulsion methods in the presence of free radical-forming catalysts. The starting materials may comprise mixtures of compounds having differing values for Rf. The copolymers may be homogeneous or segmented (heterogeneous) copolymers or comprise physical blends of homopolymers, or copolymers blended with non-fluorinated homo- or copolymers. Many suitable ethylenically unsaturated comonomers are specified. The monomer mixture preferably contains a reactive acrylic monomer which permits cross-linking by heat or cross-linking agents.
