Abstract
1,220,136. Multi-colour photography. EASTMAN KODAK CO. Feb. 5, 1968 [Feb. 6, 1967; Dec. 29, 1967], No. 5691/68. Heading G2C. Multi-colour photographic images are formed bw developing silver images in a photographic materis. having at least two imagewise exposed silver halide emulsion layers in the presence of a diffusible 3-H-4-thiazoline-2-thione and subsequently forming a differently coloured dye image in each layer. The thiazoline, which produces an undercut interimage effect which results in more saturated, brighter dye images, may be in a silver halide emulsion or other layer, or in a processing solution, e. g. in the black-and-white developer or a solution used before this developer in colour reversal processes. Preferred thiazolines are of formula: in which X is an alkyl, hydroxyalkyl or#CO containing aliphatic group, and Z is H or a group defined for X. The thiazolines may be added in the form of a disulphide, e.g. bis [5, 4-(1,2-D-gluco)- thiazolyl] disulphide, which cleaves to the required thiazoline -thione.
