Abstract

The object of the present invention is to provide a process whereby it is possible to substantially improve the flexibility of use of sulphonamido dye image-providing compounds, by realizing all the requisites needed to obtain, from negative emulsions, transferred dye images that are nevertheless positive. According to the present invention there is provided a photographic colour reversal diffusion transfer process of reproduction in which a photographic material comprising a support bearing at least one negative- working silver halide emulsion layer, with which is associated a non-diffusible dye image-providing sulphonamido compound, is imagewise exposed and developed, the diffusible dye image formed on said development is removed, the residual silver halide is overall exposed, developed and the the positive diffusible dye image so formed is transferred to a dye image-receiving layer.
