Abstract
1527120 Photographic diffusion transfer silver halide film unit FUJI PHOTO FILM CO Ltd 9 Sept 1975 [14 Sept 1974] 37145/75 Headings G2C and G2X A photographic diffusion transfer film unit comprises (A) an image-forming assembly composed of a transparent support bearing (i) on a first side, in order, an image receiving layer, a lightreflective layer which may be present before exposure of the unit or may be formed in situ during the processing steps, and at least one photo-sensitive silver halide emulsion layer, and (ii) on its other side an opaque sheet or layer which is bonded to the support so that after processing it is readily detachable from the support at least over all of its area apart from one edge, (B) a transparent cover sheet which covers the side of the film unit intended to be imagewise exposed and is adapted to retain processing solution during processing and may be at least partially bonded to the photo-sensitive layer, and (C) an aqueous alkaline processing composition provided in one or more rupturable containers attached so as to be spreadable between the cover sheet (B) and the assembly (A), a developing agent being present in the composition or elsewhere in the film unit from which it is diffusible in the presence of (C), the film unit also containing means for forming an opaque layer, between the assembly (A) and the cover sheet (B), to shield the latent image(s) from light during development. Fig. 3 (not shown) illustrates the construction of a preferred film unit. In Example 3 the film unit is, after exposure and development, bent to form a stand for the finished photograph as shown in Fig. 6.
