Abstract

1,219,441. Endless conveyers; shoots. SCHWEIZERISCHE INDUSTRIE-GES. 31 Jan., 1968 [17 Feb., 1967], No. 4923/68. Headings B8A and B8S. In the event of a stoppage in a packaging machine 11, biscuits which are normally fed from a conveyer 1 down a shoot 3 to a conveyer 4 and thence to a shoot 5 and conveyer belts 9, 10, are diverted by a switch 15 for delivery to a storage belt 12 moving in the direction V. On restarting the machine 11 the belt 12 is reversed after a suitable delay, to allow clearance of the conveyer belt 16, and feeds the biscuits to a helical shoot 18 for delivery to the marginal edges of the shoot 5 and thence to the machine 11. The reverse speed of the belt 12 is 10% of the forward speed to prevent undue overloading of the feeding system. A device 6 aligns and counts the biscuits prior to their delivery to the machine 11.
