Abstract
1453218 Loading bales MASCHINENFABRIK FAHR AG GOTTMADINGEN 5 June 1974 [23 June 1973] 24924/74 Heading B8E A vehicle for picking up, storing and transporting bales 7 or other piece goods comprises horizontal storage conveyers interconnected by conveying devices. In Fig. 1 a pick up device 4 with feed rollers 6 engages the bales and turns them perpendicular to the direction of travel for subsequent feeding by an inclined belt 9 to the horizontal conveyers 10-13 having engaging tines 23. The conveyers 10-13 feed alternately in opposite directions and the bales are conveyed between them by belts 14, 15 until the vehicle is full and discharge occurs into a shoot 24 at the forward end. The conveyers are driven by a power take off through gearing 16, 20 connected by a shaft 19. The drive may be intermittent being triggered by two end to end bales reaching the conveyer 9, to move one bale width or may be continuous, e.g. for discharge. The belts 14, 15 move at a greater speed than the belts 10-13. In a modification Fig. 3, only two conveyers 25, 26 are provided which drive the bales in opposite directions by their two runs while the lower bales at each conveyer are supported on sliding bases 27, 28. The bales are conveyed between each horizontal conveyer by conveyer rollers 29-29<SP>11</SP> around which the sliding bases extend preferably being provided with rollers 31.
