Abstract
1,219,427. Treating mould and core materials; extracting and cooling castings. LANDBOUWWERKTUIGEN - EN MACHINENFABRIEK H. VISSERS N.V. 17 Jan., 1968 [1 Feb., 1967], No. 2618/68. Addition to 1,125,757. Heading B3F. [Also in Divisions B1 and F4] The contents of cooled flasks are deposited in a rotary drum 1 so that mould sand is further cooled and dried, and the castings produced by it further cooled, in the drum 1 whose rear end has perforations 2 for discharge of the cooled and ground sand, the remainder of the drum being imperforate and containing a co-rotating perforated lining 3 supported on longitudinal partitioning members (5) in a surrounding space 6. The castings leave at the rear end at 15. Cooled flasks are opened and dumped into a hopper 12 from which the sand contents form a slope into the lining 3. Blades in the lining 3 may move its contents through the drum. Sand falls into the space 6 and back into the lining. Air drawn by a fan 17 carries vapour and dust from the drum 1 to a dust separator 16. The drum is driven by a shaft 9 on a supporting frame 7 by way of chains 11.
